Breakfast

Guests at the Manor House Bed and Breakfast wake up each morning to a gourmet breakfast created and served in the Rock Fireplace Room by executive chef Delbert Gray. Chef Gray has a passion for food that has been passed down for generations. His father was a chef for 47 years and his grandfather for 40. In addition to being raised by chefs, Chef Gray has trained for 27 years under some of Winston-Salem’s finest.

Something that is not always part of a chef’s curriculum, but the thing that makes Chef Gray stand out, is his hospitality. Delbert makes sure that each and every one of his guests feel special. He wants all guests to know that he truly cares about them and their experience at Tanglewood.

Chef Gray creates a tasty made-from-scratch breakfast each morning. His favorite presentation is eggs benedict with a homemade hollandaise sauce served with southern style grits. His many breakfast offerings include homemade biscuits, omelets, eggs cooked to order with a variety of breakfast meats, quiches, hash browns (always from fresh cut potatoes), fruits and in-season vegetables, bread pudding muffins, and pastries. He regularly prepares and rotates between more than a dozen different menus so guests staying numerous days will experience something different each day. We never know when he will choose to add a new signature dish preparation that guests can experience for their dining pleasure.
